If you are unable to print or scan to your HP wireless printer, check for network and connection issues.
General Wi-Fi requirements and connection status checks
Make sure your Wi-Fi network and printer settings meet the connection requirements.
-
Restart the printer and computer or mobile device to clear any errors.
-
Make sure the printer is not connected to the computer with a USB cable. The USB connection might block Wi-Fi setup and disable the printer's Internet connection, which is required for HP Instant Ink.
-
Check your router's support site or documentation to make sure it meets the following requirements.
-
Many routers operate on both the 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz bands, but not all HP printers support both bands. Make sure your router's 2.4GHz band is turned on and broadcasting. If your router assigns separate network names (SSIDs) to each band, connect the printer to the SSID in the 2.4 GHz band. If your printer supports the 5.0 GHz band, connect it to an SSID in the 5.0 GHz band.
-
Bonjour support (Mac): HP recommends routers that support Bonjour, Apple's network discovery software. Connecting to Bonjour is the best way to find printers and support wireless printing.
-
-
On your computer or mobile device, open the list of available networks.
